Spence’s written account of the day:
Gotta love the US Forest Circus. BPR was scheduled to open 6.15, but they actually popped it on the 12th. Nevermind that they prolly coulda opened the upper road back in April. Think I’mma have to write my Congressman and ask where the hell my tax dollars are going as I shoulda been able to access this area with my Taco Mama months ago. Sadly, what snow is still lurking about is pretty much burnt. That said, me’n Stev met up a bit after 3 p.m. and managed to knock out 5 runs on 3 patches. Pretty sure these meager swatches ain’t gonna last long, so this was probably our only schuss in the area this season. Still, it’s a magical (and easily accessible) place.
