|Looking up at our destination.
We started at the chute to looker’s right of the big rock/cliff face.
First we had to do some sloggin’ up road 013:
Makisha offered encouragement.
Up at the top Penny let Stev know that it was time to ski the chute:
Stev…
Spence…
Penny waits and watches for Stev…
…and then follows…
Next, I took Makisha on a little walk:
We were followed by three Spences and two Pennys:
Stev, Penny and Makisha:
Stev…
…is joined by Penny and Makisha…
Penny and Stev start down the lower bowl…
…further down…
Next up – traversing, rock hopping and many more patches.
Makisha and Stev starting the traverse out…
…further along on the traverse out…
Next, rock hopping on the hike out…
After the hike out of the lower bowl we found many snow patches. We would each ski ten more runs.
Spence, Makisha and Penny:
Stev, Makisha and Penny:
Makisha watches Spence:
Spence keeps going…
Penny:
Looking back at some of the patches we skied:
The green arrow points to the first run/chute we skied.
More patches.
Spence bootpacks up for yet another run…
…and the ride down is much quicker…
…back for more…
Stev, Makisha and Penny:
Makisha heads toward Spence:
Then she heads toward Stev…
…and she sets off on another intercept course…
Spence finds another semi-hidden patch that is bigger than it first appears…
…a bit steeper too…
After that he finds a smaller, somewhat flatter patch.
Makisha warns Spence about a possible meet-n-greet in the creek:
Stev hiking out back toward the truck..
…where he finds a little bonus patch…
FKNA, end of the day:
In just less than six hours we achieved a Spinal Tap like total of eleven runs.
