The Ol Dirty Bastard Patch.
I got confirmation from my friend Eric McGrath that the Ol Dirty Bastard Patch was skiable. He had skied it one day earlier (Friday, 9/11/15) as well as on the previous Saturday.

Our destination is that sliver of snow beneath the cliff:

This photo was taken near Carson Pass. While the Ol Dirty Bastard Patch can be seen from a distance, it remained hidden on nearly the entire approach. We didn’t see any snow until we were about 10 feet away from the patch.

Stev starts up above Winnemucca Lake on the longer, drier approach:

On the way up we saw two others ahead of us. Once we got into shouting distance we helped steer Matt and Dave toward the hidden Ol Dirty Bastard Patch. It was also good to meet Matt and Dave and share the patchskiing experience.

Since he forgot to get a trail map, Stev scopes out where to take his next run:

We were happy to find more September turns.
