Mount Sputnik, February 28, 2023

Skiing Mt. Sputnik with Michele, Zooey, and Hazel. While many local resorts were closed today due to blizzard conditions, Mt. Sputnik was fully open for a beautiful powder day!

The Mt. Sputnik Smokey the Bear ruler is used to measure new snowfall. We received 7 inches of fresh powder at the level of our lodge. Based on boot packing up to the summit and postholing up to my thigh, I would say the we have close to two feet of base.
