Jeremy and Jeff invited Spence and I to ski Sisters during the eclipse on Monday, August 21st.

Prior to our approach, Spence tests out one of the many NASA approved eclipse viewing options.

When we reached Roundtop Lake Spence took out another one of his NASA approved eclipse viewing options. Jeremy watches on while Spence and Stev work together to see an image.

I also tried using this and it did work. We were not blinded by the light and were still able to ski.

Next, we took two different approach routes to the same destination. Jeff and Jeremy “stormed the castle” while Spence and I took a more gradual approach that followed a creek before ascending the snow.

On our way up, right at the peak viewing time, Spence took out his NASA, OSHA, PSIA, CIA, FBI, and STPUD, approved eclipse viewer. Look closely to see the crescent shape on the paper.

As you can see, the wildflowers are still looking good.

While Jeff and Jeremy needed to head out early, Spence and I hiked a short way past Roundtop Lake to do a few runs on the “October Patch” at the foot of Sisters.

On the hike out we had a panoramic view of Roundtop, Sisters and Roundtop Lake.

Instead of hiking the whole way Spence and I tried driving out in this truck.
