Forestdale Divide Patches, July 8, 2014

We made a last minute, late afternoon patchskiing trip to Forestdale Divide. We chose snow patches that offered novelty and variety along with quality.

The first patch we skied is in the background. The Tacomama is in the foreground:

Since the snow felt so good, we took a second lap.

There was an interesting path to the Lower Section.

After flowing down, we needed to bootpack up.

This ran longer than expected and provided 12-14 turns. Our next destinations would be shorter and steeper.

Next, we headed across the pond to two more patches.
We skied the one on looker’s right first.

Since it was on our way out and we still had a bit of daylight, we skied the Center Patch.

I’m not holding two flashlight poles. My gloves have a reflective surface and the flash went went off on the camera as it got darker.

Six patches on a three hour tour provided novelty, variety and quality.
