|Method Man Patch
After a late start from Woods Lake we headed out in search of snow patches.
We first went past Roundtop Lake to see if “The October Patch” offered any September turns this year. Here is what we found:
Next, we headed back toward Roundtop Lake. Perhaps “The Driveway Patch” would offer up some turns. All we found was this hanging snowfield above the location of “The Driveway Patch”…
We headed further up hoping that “The Saddle Patch” might be skiable, but it looked like a cliff downclimb into a brief run into an abrupt ending above steep scree. Then we angled up to our left and found a similar sight on “The Wu-Tang Patch”…
After a traverse to our left we hiked over a ridge to “Method Man Patch.”
Here is our initial view:
After a recon falling leaf/side slip/use the edges to groom the snow, Stev heads back up…
…and starts down…
Spence hops out…
…heads down…
…and after a bootpack up, starts again…
…and continues around the “rock slalom gate”…
Stev duplicates and elaborates…
Spence spots his next line…
…and heads down it…
Stev starts…
…adjusts…
…detours…
…and continues…
Spence slicing in…
…and spraying down…
Stev hops out…
…before settling into his next turn…
Spence starts one more run…
We each enjoyed five interesting and fun runs.
